The Women’s Equity Lab mission was never just about writing cheques—it was about changing who writes the cheques. What started as an experiment in a Victoria living room has ignited a national movement, activating over 400 women to deploy more than $5 million into Canada’s startup ecosystem. But our impact goes beyond capital. By backing over 60 companies—74% of which are women-led —we aren’t just funding businesses; we are accelerating a new class of power companies. WEL-backed ventures are creating hundreds of jobs, reaching multi-million dollar revenue milestones, and achieving valuation growth of up to 20x.
